Cultural Programmes

Shri Shri Durga Puja is a Durgotsav, hence it not confined to observance of religious rituals. This festival is a festival of culture and literature. It is also a festival of reunion. During  Puja, we bring out a tri-lingual wall magazine which is displayed in the Puja Pandal. Especially many young members contribute their wonderful articles , stories of social values and jokes. Women contribute too. Considering the rush of readers and their inconvenience to read we are thinking of upgrading  the presentation of  magazine with the help of modern technology. Shortly it will be complied with.

As we trust that Cultural Programmes are integral part in Durgotsav, hence in each Puja Pandal especially outside Bengal you will find there is a stage for presentation of Cultural Programmes adjacent to Puja Mandap. Shatabdi Puja Pandal is no exception. Starting from Maha Panchami till Maha Navami, we present various interests of cultural programs that help us to reduce the chasm between different linguistic cultural groups.

On Maha Panchami  in the evening, we have ‘Anand Mela’ where women members of Shatabdi present various types of food especially Bengali food  being cooked and sold in the stalls in the Puja Prangan. This is followed by drawing Competition for children and musical program presented by various Local Artists. The Drawing Competition is sponsored  and organized  by a well known social organization popularly known as “Nai Roshni”.

On Maha Shasthi,“Dance of India” shall be presented by a renowned Dance Troupe from Kolkata.

On  Maha Saptmi, “Mahishasur Mardini ” commonly known as Agamani shall be  presented this year by Shatabdi Foundation. We have been presenting this outstanding programme along with Dance by a group of young Girls. The synchronization of dance with the songs and the recital of Slokas from Chandi have made the program not only attractive but a mind blowing even to Non-Bengalis.

On Maha Asthami   Bhajan Sandhya shall be presented by “Shankardhar Bandhu” and Keeping in mind the strong increasing demand for a program of Musical Orchestra by the young people of the Locality.

On Maha Navami we have arranged for an orchestra which has gained popularity and still continues to win hearts of not only the youth but also the senior people.

On Laxmi  Puja Immediately after the immersion of Shri Shri Durga Pratima  we have  arranged  for Bijoy Sammelani  on 10/10/2009 where in we can truly uphold the spirit of re-union and exchange Bijoy Greetings with each other . This is a unique Bengali tradition.
Following this we get busy for celebration of Shri Shri Laxmi Puja on 3rd Oct where in distribution of Maha Bhog is preceded  by small cultural programme. After Laxmi puja  Shri Shri Kali puja awaits but due to certain reasons we do not celebrate Shri Shri Kali Puja  in the manner as we do in case of Shri Durga Puja or Laxmi  Puja. In stead, we contribute a handsome amount to nearby Kali Bari towards Kali Puja Expenses.

On Saraswati Puja At the dawn of New Year we get ready to celebrate Shri Shri Saraswati Puja in a befitting manner. Children of various age groups participate in athletic meet and cultural programme which have become an integral part of the celebration of  Shri Shri  Saraswati Puja. We from Shatabdi Welcome you all from India and abroad and request you to visit Lucknow during Puja days.
